Environment & Community Services Committee

The Environmental & Community Services aims to sensitize students about their social responsibility towards environment and community. The Committee strives to transform the young minds into responsible citizens of tomorrow. The committee is an ideal platform for the students to gain literacy and sensitization on various environmental factors and issues. It also inculcates understanding on the consequences of human actions for the earth and its resources; understanding and actions that can be taken locally and globally to encourage sustainable living and to avoid unsustainable practices we at IITM aim at enhancing the overall learning experience of the students. The committee tends to bridge the gap between youth and the under-privileged section of the society, thereby, sensitizing the students towards the upliftment of the society. The ultimate goal of the committee is to shape the students into responsible citizens.

Objective
  1. Sensitize students about their surroundings.
  2. Make them aware of the consequences of unchecked human action on Mother earth and its resources.
  3. Guide the students about their responsibility towards their environment for a better future.
Committee undertake the following responsibilities:
  • Gaining knowledge about the environment.
  • Perform actions to improve the campus environment.
  • Help to solve local environmental problems.
  • Educate everyone about the environment.
  • Advertise committee happenings by placing posters and updates on college notice boards regularly.
  • Mount exhibition of work done and pictures at the college.
OBJECTIVE OF COMMUNITY SERVICES COMMITTEE
  • Encourage the students to adopt a Class-IV employee and enable them to be a part of mainstream
  • Bridge the social gap between the students and the under-privileged section of the society
  • Enhance the EQ (Emotional Quotient) of the students and employees
  • Inculcate the tradition of social service amongst students
  • Impart life-long learning experience amongst students
COMMUNITY SERVICES COMMITTEE UNDERTAKE THE FOLLOWING RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Sensitize students, faculty and staff towards awareness of social issues
  • Organize camps such as Cloth and Blood Donation periodically
  • Organize seminars on contemporary social issues from eminent personalities and renowned organizations
  • Involve students in bridging the socio-economical gap between various strata's of society
